Shawn oversees and performs audit and tax services for owners of a variety of affordable multifamily housing projects including projects that receive Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits. Shawn also provides consulting to owners who receive tax credits under these programs, related to various compliance issues, such as tenant file maintenance and complying with federal and state regulations.
Shawn also manages and performs audits for owners of projects receiving federal financial assistance from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Rural Development (RD), and other federal agencies. He has many years of experience working with these programs, including previous work experience with a property management company.
In addition to his real estate expertise, he also manages and performs audits and other attest work for a variety of nonprofit organizations, including charitable organizations, as well as membership and trade associations.
Shawn enjoys spending time with family and friends and attending all of his sons’ sporting events. He also enjoys attending Iowa State University and Wisconsin football games. Traveling and experiencing different cultures is another of Shawn’s favorite things to do.
