Mara is a Manager with SVA Certified Public Accountants and specializes in the real estate and nonprofit industries.

Mara leads financial statement audits for both SVA’s Real Estate and Nonprofit groups. In the real estate area, she specializes in audits for the affordable housing sector including properties financed through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), and U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development (RD).

In the nonprofit sector, Mara works with several charitable and professional/trade organizations, including organizations that receive federal and state grant awards and are subject to reporting under Government Auditing Standards and/or the OMB’s Uniform Guidance. In addition, she oversees the preparation of Form 990 and related tax filings for exempt organizations.

Mara received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. She is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
