Lynn Heslinga Named to In Business’ Forty Under 40

SVA Certified Public Accountants is pleased to announce that Lynn Heslinga, Principal, has been named to In Business’ Forty Under 40 list of business leaders. This annual list honors 40 successful and civic-minded professionals under the age of 40 in the Madison area.

Lynn has been with SVA for 15 years, and in the past year has assumed a leadership role in the nonprofit industry group. Collaborating with the team, she spearheaded efforts to boost profitability, streamline processes to reduce costs, and work with clients to ensure they meet the fee requirements established by SVA’s management team.

Lynn has also created an environment for nonprofit team members to develop their skills and introduced new metrics for assessing the achievement of the team’s objectives. Due to her success at revitalizing the nonprofit industry group, Lynn has been elected to lead the real estate industry group.

In addition to her day-to-day work, Lynn was instrumental in unifying SVA's offices and industry teams. SVA’s expansion into multiple offices resulted in different processes and procedures across locations. To adapt to the evolving landscape of remote work and improve efficiency in handling client work, Lynn took a leadership role in consolidating all nonprofit client services under one umbrella. This encompassed various aspects, including tax, assurance, and audit services, allowing SVA to gain a holistic view of our clients' needs and enhance our capacity to provide tailored consulting services. This endeavor was not only a major company-wide goal but also a significant company-wide restructuring effort.

Lynn is involved in professional organizations as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Downtown Madison Inc., and the Overture Center Foundation, where she is on the Board of Directors and an audit committee member. Outside of the office, Lynn enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, and gardening.
