Met condensed time frame
Complicated financials became digestible
Benchmarks and comparisons
When it came time for the Madison Public Library Foundation to choose a nonprofit auditor, they looked for someone who understood their organization and the many nuances of nonprofit financials. The Foundation is required to submit their financial statements to the City of Madison, and they needed someone who could provide an accurate audit in a condensed timeframe. The library has many initiatives including capital campaigns, endowments, annual fund drives and grants which creates a complexity to their financials that varies from year to year.
“We chose SVA because of their reputation in the community for supporting nonprofit organizations. Their experience in this arena provided a comfort level for our Board,” said Jenni Jeffress, former Executive Director of the Madison Public Library Foundation.
SVA was able to draw on their expertise with nonprofits to provide comparisons, benchmarks and best practices, which gave additional insights as they presented the financial picture for the Madison Public Library Foundation Board. The financial statements were presented in a way that everyone could easily digest.
“SVA is a trusted resource and team member that we draw upon all year to ensure our continued success,” stated Jenni. “We appreciate their professionalism and rely on the level of communication they provide for us."
"SVA’s reputation and expertise with nonprofits made them our first choice! Their ability to turn the work around in a condensed timeframe, and in a way that all Board of Director members could digest easily, has made them an invaluable resource to us."
