KleenMark has been a leader in the commercial cleaning industry for 60 years. As the largest family-owned commercial cleaning and facility supplies company in Wisconsin, KleenMark transitioned from Jack Stevenson to the second generation when son Scott Stevenson began his leadership role.
“SVA has been a partner in our business for as long as I can remember,” states Scott. “My dad worked with SVA since the early 1970s. I used to clean SVA’s offices when I first started in the cleaning business. They are our client and we are theirs. Our relationship with SVA is a true partnership built on mutual trust and respect.”
When KleenMark started the succession planning process in 1999, SVA guided them through the structuring of a fair and equitable earn-out to enable Jack to retire and Scott to keep the company profitable and growing. “SVA’s valuation of our company and their expertise on loan structuring was instrumental in maximizing the tax benefits as we transitioned ownership,” says Scott.
The relationship continues to be strong and most recently, SVA’s expertise with financial reporting gave Scott and their new controller a better handle on the financial aspects of the business. “Our financials are timely and accurate. The advice SVA provides to our controller and myself has given us a better understanding of where we are performing well, and where we need to focus on improvement.” SVA also provides tax planning and year-end reporting both on a business and personal level for the Stevenson family.
Scott proudly proclaims “KleenMark is the fastest-growing and most innovative company in the cleaning industry. Having SVA as a business partner ensures we will continue to meet and exceed our growth goals.”
