SVA Certified Public Accountants professional Sheri Springer, CPA presents a breakout session at the Wisconsin Association of Housing Authorities (WAHA) 2018 Annual Conference. “Ride the Waves With the H.E.A.R.T. of a Champion” conference will occur September 17-20, 2018 in Sheboygan, WI.
Sheri’s breakout session, titled Internal Controls for Agencies with Limited Staff and Fraud Examples, will provide an outline of various accounting functions along with examples of how internal controls can be implemented to not only make errors or fraud more unlikely, but also to ensure efficient and effective processes and reliability of financial reporting. Additionally, this session will cover examples of financial fraudulent acts.
Sheri is a Senior Manager with SVA Certified Public Accountants, S.C. with expertise in the real estate and nonprofit industries. In her role, she oversees and performs audits for owners of affordable multifamily housing units receiving Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Sheri also manages and performs audits for owners of projects receiving federal financial assistance from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She has valuable experience with the unique reporting requirements for these entities.
