SVA Certified Public Accountants’ professional Eric Trost, CPA, MST is featured in a recent BizTimes article titled “Trump and Taxes: Navigating the Uncertainty”.
In the article, Eric discusses when the tax reform of the Trump presidency will happen and how big those reforms will be. In regards to the timing of the tax reform bill, some analysts predict a Fall 2017 timeline while others push it to Spring 2018. This would mean that any potential tax rates and reductions would go into effect for 2018 or even 2019.
In regards to how big the tax reforms will be, it’s still too early to tell but it is predicted that small businesses that are taxed at individual rates can expect lower rates. Larger corporations, particularly those with foreign operations, may see incentives to repatriate earnings and bring those dollars back to the U.S. for investment.
