SVA Hosted Free Shredding Events to Stop Identity Theft

SVA, in conjunction with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), hosted ShredFest events in Madison on April 29 and in Brookfield, Wisconsin on May 6, 2017. Pellitteri Data Destruction Division (Madison) and Iron Mountain (Brookfield) made it possible for secure document destruction.

In total more than 1,500 vehicles participated and 48,700 pounds of personal documents were shredded.   Not only are these events helping curb identity theft but the material collected is recycled so they’re keeping 24.35 tons of paper material out of landfills and saving 243 trees.

“We were excited to provide these complimentary shredding events to our clients and the community at large. The turnout was incredible and we continue to receive calls and emails of thanks from those who participated,” stated Carl Schultz, President and CEO of SVA. “There has been an overwhelming appreciation for the opportunity to dispose of confidential documents which helps protect against identity theft.”
